Cave Paintings Bundi Rajasthan


Bundi is a remarkable and ancient town located in Rajasthan India, which is surrounded by Aravali hills. Bundi is known for beautiful rock paintings, historical and architectural sites. Red colored rock painting in Bundi belongs to ancient Stone Age nearly 15000 year old. Cave Paintings are the paintings found in cave walls and ceiling. These cave paintings show social, Cultural, religious and economic life of the early tribal people. They show his life style and feelings in pictures, how they live the life. Cave Paintings history is very old and founded 4000 years ago in Europe. Approximately 350 rocks painted caves are available around the world.

Mr. Om Prakash Sharma also known as kukki discovered world longest rock painting sites stretched Mandal dam, Bhilwara district and head at Banki village in Garadha and many hidden caves in Bundi. Mr. kukki is not an archeologist by profession but he spend two decades discovering rock arts.   Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to give him the status of 'honorary archaeologist' for his achievement. Previously Bundi only known for his magnificent fort and historical sites but now many archeologists across the world visit the region to see the rock painted caves.

By Road
Bundi is well connected by Road from other Indian cites, Jaipur, Delhi, Agra and others. Distance between Jaipur to Bundi is 212 Km, Delhi to Bundi 468 Km and Agra to Bundi is 402 Km.

By Train

Bundi also has railway stations and well connected to other cities. Another nearest Railway station is Kota, Just 40 KM. away from Bundi. It’s the best option who wants to visit here.
