Jim Corbett National Park is the oldest national park located in the Nainital District of Uttarakhand was established in 1936 as Hailey National Park. Corbett is also the first national park that considered preservation of tigers important and rousing other national parks to do the same. The national park was renamed in 1954–55 as Ramganga National Park and was again renamed in 1955–56 as Corbett National Park. The new name honors the well-known author and wildlife conservationist Jim Corbett, who played a key role in its establishment.
Up to 488 different types of species of plants have been recorded in the park. Tree thickness inside the store is higher in the zones of Sal timberlands and least in the Anogeissus-Acacia catechu woods.
More than 586 types of birds spotted here with wide variety of animals including Leopards, Elephants, Tiger, Chita, fishing cat and leopard cat Other mammals are also spotted include barking deer, sambar deer, hog deer and chital, Sloth and Himalayan black bears. Tiger are not easily spotted due to of the richness of disguise in the reserve.

Nearest Railway Station is Ramnagar. Ramnagar is connected to others city (Delhi and Lucknow) of India. Ramnagar is 60 kilometers from Nainital.
It is most helpful to drive down to Corbett National Park. It takes about six hours from Delhi to blanket the 295-km extend through Gajraula, Moradabad, Kashipur and Ramnagar.there are general transports too from Delhi and Lucknow to Ramnagar, the town closest to Corbett National Park.
