Chobe National Park Botswana

The Chobe National Park established in 1967 and covers about 11,700km² of the northern Kalahari. When you arrive here you have experience the first glance of mighty chobe river. Chobe national Park is the part of world famous and largest Okavango Delta and second largest national park in Botswana. Okavango Delta has four distinct Eco systems. Chobe National Park is the home of several mammals including Zebra, Elephant, Buffalo, giraffe and Wild Beast and many species of birds. Almost every southern African mammal’s species is represented here.  Best time to visit between May & Sept during dry winter month. River trip is one of the finest ways to explore park and without river trip you will miss the real glimpse of the park very few people miss it. Take a river cruise or rent a house boat to see hundreds of hippopotamuses, crocodiles and world largest Elephant population. You can see hundreds of elephant at one time and some time surrounded by elephant.

Best time to Visit:

Like most of the National Park best time to visit Chobe is during the dry season from April to October when pans dry up and the animals tend to gather close to the river banks making it easier to spot them. Late October through to April is also birth for bird watching.

 Getting There:

Nearest city is Kasane and the Park just half an hour drive from the airport, Kasane Airport has regular scheduled and charter flights coming in from Livingstone, Victoria Falls, Maun and Gaborone.

Getting Around:

Tour operators are offers day tours, half a day on land and half a day by boat. River Cruise is the best option to explore park wild life.

White Water Rafting in Zambezi River

Rafting in Zambezi River is one of the specular and breathes talking experience in Africa.  The Zambezi River is the fourth largest river in Africa full 3,540km length – running from Zambia way to the Indian Ocean via Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. You can start rafting either side Zimbabwe or Zambian, but its compulsory that starting and ending point should be the same side where you start. Children’s below 15 are not allowed because this trip tested physical fitness and stamina but no swimming and prior experience required. Rafting companies provide finest equipment such as safety Helmets, life jackets and wet suite to ensure that the trip is a safe and enjoyable one.
